We're launching this September
Take The L has been a passion of mine for a while now, and it's finally almost ready for the world. Here's the headline: We're shooting for a September 2026 launch on the App Store and Google Play.
The target: September 2026
Two months out, give or take. The core game is done and genuinely fun, with the last stretch being polish, more prompts, and making the very first game effortless to start. You can already play the whole thing right now in your browser at playtakethel.com/join. The September date is about the polished native apps (iOS/Android) and the full mode lineup landing all at once.
What's in the box at launch
- The full mode lineup. Eleven modes and counting — from quick pass-the-phone rounds to full game-show nights.
- Hosting, anywhere. Run the party on your TV or straight from your phone with a Host Pass. Everyone else joins free.
- Free to play. Joining a game is always free — no account gymnastics, no per-player fees.
- Profiles, stats & leaderboards. Your career Ls, tracked and immortalized.
What we're locking down first
The unglamorous pre-launch grind: fresh prompt packs, the cosmetics shop, performance passes, and hammering on edge cases until nothing breaks when fourteen people pile into a lobby at 1am. That's where the next couple of months go.
Launch dates are a promise to ourselves, not a contract with physics. September's the target — and if it moves, you'll hear it here first.
You don't have to wait
Seriously — the game is live and playable in your browser today. Grab some friends, pick a mode, and start handing out Ls. The apps will just make it smoother.
